Las Vegas & the NFR

On Dec. 9th, 2008 Ron, Grant & I flew to LasVegas & the National Finals Rodeo (NFR). Since none of us had been out West it was truly a wonderful trip. We stayed at the Paris Hotel right in the middle of everything. All the hotels were decked out in Christmas finery. On Wed. we rented a car and went to Hoover Dam & Grand Canyon. It was awesome. We had tickets to the NFR on Thur. Fri. & Sat. nights. The rodeo is quite a production - with lots of celebrities, laser light shows, lots of pagentry, & of course the best riders in the world. During the day we took in all the sights, shopped til we dropped, ate great food, then shopped some more. Grant got quite good at catching taxes. Flew home on Sunday, tired but looking forward to going again next year.

The water show in front of our hotel. It was set to Christmas music & just beautiful.

Rented an Escalade to go to the Grand Canyon. Nothing like traveling in style.

To close to the edge for me. Didn't realize I was afraid of heights til I saw the Grand Canyon.

Ron liked talking to the Indian Squaws.
